Meet the Teacher

Dear Parents and Students,
I am so excited about this first grade year!  Getting to know my new students is very exciting, but I also like to share a little about myself.
This is my 22nd year of teaching, I have taught first grade 16 years.  Teaching first grade is so exciting because students are learning to read and write, they learn addition and subtraction facts, and they are so excited and curious about the world around them making Science very fun!  I'm sure we are going to have a fun first grade year!
The family picture above is my husband, Charlie Carroll, my children, Marissa (Sophomore) in College, Olivia (seventh grade), and Andrew (Junior).  Our children grow way too fast, so enjoy every moment you can with them!  This picture was taken a several years ago in Yellowstone.  One of my favorite things to do is travel with family.  During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing wiffle ball games, swimming, reading, or watching movies.
During the first three weeks we will be interviewing our students to find out their favorites.  They always ask what my favorites are, so here are a few:   color - purple, team-St. Louis Cardinals, children's book-Magic Tree House, food-pizza or icecream, place-the beach or the mountains, candy-Jelly Belly jellybeans or anything chocolate.  I really look forward to getting to know your family as well.
I hope you find my school website helpful.  There are many web resources we use at school and you are always welcome to use them at home as well.  Many of them can be used on the iPads, Kindles.  I will soon be sending home information for these websites.

I will also try to use this website to put the newsletter up each week and post pictures of our projects and fun activities.
Please remember if you need to contact me you may call my cell phone listed in the handbook or e-mail me:
Have a great year!
Mrs. Carroll
